Job Description
- Assist in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures such as upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, and EUS, etc.
- Prepare procedure rooms, instruments, and required consumables prior to procedures.
- Support patient preparation, positioning, and post-procedure care.
- Ensure proper handling and labeling of biopsy samples.
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopes and accessories as per protocols.
- Ensure proper functioning of endoscopy equipment and report faults timely.
- Assist in minor troubleshooting and coordinate with biomedical teams for repairs.
- Strictly follow infection prevention and control (IPC) guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the endoscopy unit.
- Ensure safe disposal of medical waste as per hospital policies.
- Maintain stock levels of consumables and endoscopy accessories.
- Minimize wastage and ensure cost-effective utilization of resources.
- Maintain logs of procedures, equipment usage, and sterilization records.
- Assist in accurate data entry into hospital management information system (HMIS).
- Ensure adherence to SOPs and departmental protocols.
- Participate in training and continuous professional development.
- Maintain professional conduct, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
- Perform any other task assigned by the immediate supervisor that is commensurate with your knowledge and skills.
