· Ensure the institution adheres to all environmental, health and safety regulations of the federal, provincial, and local levels regulatory bodies.
· Identifying potential hazards in the workplace, assessing their risks, and implementing measures to mitigate.
· Conducting regular inspections of facilities to identify potential safety and environmental violations.
· Implement policies and procedures in line with EHS regulations.
· Maintain records of hazardous materials and ensure safe disposal according to regulatory requirements.
· Developing and delivering training programs to educate employees on safety procedures, hazard awareness, and emergency response.
· Promote environmental health and safety awareness; conduct regular fire and emergency evacuation drills.
· Developing and maintaining emergency response plans and procedures.
· Maintaining accurate records of safety inspections, training, incidents, and other relevant EHS data.
· Collaborates with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
· Investigate incidents, and EHS-related complaints to identify root causes.
· Maintain accurate documentation of all incidents and report findings to the Manager, Safety & Security.
· Establish corrective and preventive actions for EHS-related incidents and monitor implementation.
· Assist in investigating safety incidents and determine causes to prevent future occurrence as assigned.
· Responsible for identifying and mitigating hazards, conducting inspections, assist in developing training programs, and investigating incidents as assigned by the Manager, Safety & Security.
· Perform any other task assigned by the Head of Department and/or by the Management that is commensurate with your knowledge and skills.
