Dialysis technician is responsible for connecting patients to hemodialysis treatment ensuring patient safety protocols and also handling the ancillary services required for smooth functioning of hemodialysis facility. He will be able to connect patients independently but would be required to seek help from senior dialysis technician or duty doctor in case issues related to patient instability arise during treatment.
This position works under the supervision of Team Lead Dialysis
Preparation of hemodialysis machines for treatment
Handling Reverse Osmosis plant and preparation of Dialysis Concentrates whenever required
Assist doctor in performing temporary angio-access
Will be eligible to handle permanent or temporary angio-access of hemodialysis patient
Connecting patients to hemodialysis as per dialysis prescription, periodic monitoring of patient on hemodialysis with proper documentation, addressing hemodialysis machine alarms during treatment and assuring hemodynamic and angio-access stability at the end of treatment
Responsible for listening to patients’ complaints and conveying it to duty doctor
Informing doctor on duty or senior dialysis technician for issues related to hemodynamic instability of patients during treatment
Should have valid ACLS certification to initiate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in event of sudden cardiovascular collapse
Observing infection control practices as per protocol
Documentation of inventory consumption with responsibility
Running dialyzer reprocessing unit independently
Managing appointments of maintenance hemodialysis patients as per protocol
Assuring patient-friendly environment in the treatment area
Maintaining professional conduct and good communication skill with peers and seniors
Observe confidentiality in matters related to patient care
Keeping record of medication issue and administration to hemodialysis and CRF Clinic patients
Can be asked to perform duty at any hemodialysis campus within the city whenever required
Will be assigned shift duties as required
