Job Description

  • Oversee the daily cleaning of all areas of the hospital, including patient areas, hallways, waiting areas, restrooms, and offices.
  • Conducting regular inspections of cleaned areas to ensure they meet hygiene and cleanliness standards, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Participating in the training of new housekeeping staff, providing guidance and feedback on cleaning procedures and standards.
  • Implement and enforce infection control practices to prevent the spread of infections, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to IHHN infection control protocols and precautions.
  • Manage the disposal of medical and general waste according to established guidelines and regulations.
  • Monitor and manage housekeeping supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and efficient use of resources.
  • Ensure availability of cleaning supplies, disinfectants, PPE, and other materials.
  • Maintaining a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with patients, visitors, and other hospital staff, addressing their needs and concerns promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, departmental documentation, supply usage, and any incidents or issues.
  • Develop and maintain monthly schedules and roster; ensure smooth execution with timely and proper rotation of porter and cleaners in all the areas.
  • Develop cleaning schedules and protocols for all hospital areas.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, government regulations, and PHC/ JCI standards.
  • Respond to housekeeping-related complaints or issues promptly.
  • Perform any other task assigned by the immediate supervisor that commensurate with your knowledge and skills.
