Job Description

This position is meant to assist as well as supervise activities that relate to improvement of clinical and service quality within the hospital. This would be achieved by working with the Medical & Nursing staff. The position would assist the Head of Department/ Manager of QIPS in JCIA related quality initiatives and other departmental responsibilities. The person will interact, as a facilitator, with Physicians/Managers and other staff for quality related initiatives. The position would facilitate establishing, implementing, and maintaining the quality management systems, and other departmental responsibilities as assigned by the Head of QIPS.

Risk Management Related:

  • Provide assistance to end users in maintenance and analysis of the “Incident Reporting System”.
  • Conduct necessary analysis to identify root causes of system failures in various areas and departments.
  • Design and support the implementation of solutions to eliminate recurring failures and improve systems performance.

Performance Improvement Related:

  • Review clinical audit reports and share with Manager/ Head of Department.
  •  Facilitate under supervision staff in conducting awareness sessions on various quality improvement standards, internal quality audits, and other areas as required.
  • Ensure that all the newly employed staff in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Department have their orientation within the specified period.
  • Arrange training for Quality Improvement and FOCUS PDCA.
  • Ensure the implementation of improvement activities across the hospital.
  • Provide resources for different Committees of the Hospital & departmental Committees.
  • Attending different Quality Improvement Committee meetings as assigned.
  • Develop Quality Initiative plans.
  • Update the activities to the Manager QIPS, on an on-going basis.
  • Provide assistance to Manager in departmental tasks and other assignments.
  • Assist in preparation of Policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) & Manuals of Clinical and Non-clinical departments.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of Credentialing and Privileging Records.

Data Analysis Related:

  • Ensure the validity of data and KPIs / quality goals of all departments on regular basis.
  • Responsible for recommendations regarding annual review/ revision within all TIH quality management, databases, indicators.
  • Ensure the validity of clinical indicators of clinical departments on regular basis.
  • Review results of committee meetings from all assigned facilities and prepare quarterly reports for the Head of Department.
  • Draft data driven plans related to the area of assignment (e.g. Risk Management, Quality Improvement, Data analysis, etc.).

Patients Complaints, Concerns & Issues:

  • Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, & quality management program.
  • Provide guidance to patients and their attendants for their problems & concerns.
  • Provide assistance in designing strategies for the convenience of the patients.
  • Execution and implementation of the policies through all counters of public interface.
  • Interview patients for personal information.
  • Liaise with consultants, doctors and department managers for giving better services to the patients and solve their problems.
  • Provide guidance and required information to patients coming for treatment.
  • Attend departmental meetings as and when required.
  • Update the activities to the Manager on an on-going basis.
  • Update and advise the Manager on all complaints, concerns and issues of serious nature.
  • Assist the Manager in departmental tasks

Periodic Duties/Responsibilities

  • Carry out 6 monthly and yearly analyses for complaints, in specific, and other data as per need.
  • Will be responsible for implementation of Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Assist in carrying out various studies from time to time.
  • Represent the department in different forums as per need
