Job Description
REGULAR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Smooth and efficient running of Pathology section.
- Validation of all tests performed in Pathology according to CAP requirement.
- Proper maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Inventory management
- Maintaining all records and documentation according to CAP requirements
- Preparing SOPS
- Staff management including roster and leave management.
- Coordination with HR for selection and recruitment of staff.
- POCT management and coordination
- Ensuring accuracy of results
- Ensuring all critical results communication.
- Liaison with clinicians during reporting of unusual or abnormal results
- Coordination with the IT staff for interfacing, LIS development and implementation
- Coordination with other relevant department i. e purchase biomedical , maintenance etc
- Developing and implementing reporting formats according to CAP requirements
- Training and teaching trainees, junior technologists, rotational staff and students
- Monitoring internal and external quality control program
- Coming up with innovative plans and procedures for improving lab services
- Ensuring that the team meets its KPIS collectively and individually
- Ensuring that the department maintains a turnaround time to defined limits
- Keeping abreast with recent advances in knowledge and techniques related to the field
- Doing regular costing of tests and developing solutions to work more cost effectively.
- Developing proposals for alternative or new tests, instrumentation, techniques as per requirement of the institution
- Ensuring safe laboratory practices.
- Any other task designated by Managers, Section Head or Director Lab
