Job Description – Telehealth Doctor (Gynae and Peads)

Telehealth Specialist will be based in Karachi, work 6 days per week in IHHN Telehealth Program by providing clinical support (diagnosis and management) to the patients (Gynae and peads) at Spoke Site based in RHC – Haripur District, KPK and the main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Remote online consultations: Conduct video or phone consultations with patients and their families to diagnose and manage gynae/obs and pediatric health diseases/issues and guide the nurse/midwife/healthcare staff to manage the patient at spoke site.
  • Clinical assessments: Gather medical history, perform virtual examinations, and order diagnostic tests as needed including ANCs, PNCs and supportive supervision for managing normal deliveries.
  • Management and treatment plans of peadiatric patients: Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including medication management and diet recommendations.
  • Team work and collaboration: Work with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Patient and family education: Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
  • Patient Data/documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of consultations, diagnoses, and treatment plans and share the reports to the management/Program Team.
  • Experience and utilization of Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) to ensure its use for recording all patient related data accurately and on time.
  • IHHN clinical guidelines: Stay current with the latest pediatric healthcare practice guidelines, research, and technologies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidentiality of patients/records.
  • Any other tasks given by the supervisor and IHHN Telehealth Program Team.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree: MBBS and post-graduation training/degree in family medicine/ Gynecology or a related field with 2-3 years of clinical experience.
  • Licensure: Valid PMDC/PMC/medical license to practice.
  • Telemedicine training: Experience with IHHN telemedicine platforms and digital technologies.
  • Communication skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in IHHN HMIS/electronic health records and digital tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
