Job Description

The psychologist's work is to diagnose and provide therapy for patients presenting with, or who are at risk of, emotional, behavioral and social difficulties that can arise secondary to their medical condition.

Takes an active leadership role in development of the plan of care which is developed based on an assessment of the patient/family needs from the time of admission till after discharge. Provides individual and family counseling. Works for in patient and out-patient care.


TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Inpatient consultation patients, including assessments, treatment plans and implementation of interventions (therapies. counseling)
  • Visits IPD for patients who are mild to severely
  • Provide assessment, counseling and therapies to patients and their families using quantitative and qualitative psychological tests
  • Conduct/assist inpatient education sessions and patients support groups
  • Design classes/group sessions to teach (adult/pediatric) population about specific topics and common coping strategies
  • Design mental health awareness events/activities for healthcare workers.
  • Training staff by seminars and workshops
  • Training and Supervision of volunteers and interns coming for clinical internships
  • Conduct Research and research based activities
  • Develop SOPs to refer patients to in house and to other organizations
  • Design pathways to receive patients from other department
  • Develop OPD and IPD consultation SOPs
  • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with clients, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
