Job Description

  1. Responsible / assign and supervise tasks of supervisors / officers and staff of the Housekeeping / laundry Department.
  2. Responsible to assigns workers, their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness, sanitation & hygiene.
  3. Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation and visit campus facility on daily basis and maintain visitation data.
  4. Responsible to investigate cleaning / porter / laundry complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, takes corrective action and maintained records.
  5. Responsible to ensure the smooth functioning of laundry & linen section, delivery – distribution of clean linen is timely completed including collection of soiled linen and records are maintained in accordance with SOP,s.
  6. Responsible to ensure that laundry – linen staff adhered to linen sorting, cleaning, washing safety and records are kept on daily basis.
  7. Obtains list of areas / facility cleaning from nursing & others units and immediately deploy staff as per list and prepare work assignments.
  8. Responsible to evaluate, analyzing results to choose the best solution and solve problems / issues to share outcome with immediate supervisor or seek guidance.
  9. Responsible to providing information to immediate supervisor, co-workers, and subordinates in written form, e-mail, or in person.  
  10. Coordinates work activities among all clinical / non-clinical departments.
  11. Examines equipment, HK facility (including waste dump area) to determine need for repairs or cleaning or replacement of equipment / tools, and makes recommendations to management. (all non-capital equipment)
  12. Responsible to conduct staff meetings to discuss company policies and patrons' complaints and maintain records.
  13. Responsible to issues supplies and equipment to workers and maintain records and ensure the safe use.
  14. Establishes standards and procedures for work of housekeeping staff.

  1. Liaise with the hospital infection control team / departmental management regarding the upkeep of the cleaning system of the hospital.
  2. Participate in the meeting with the Head of Department; maintain records and recommendations
  3. Responsible to submit month end departmental performance reports on 3rd of every month.
  4. Responsible to ensure that Indus code of conduct / confidentiality of sensitive issues is strictly followed and code of conduct breach will result serious disciplinary action.
  5. Develop and maintain monthly schedules and roster and seek approval from immediate HOD, and ensure smooth execution.
  6. Responsible to ensure that contaminated / non-contaminated waste / sharps boxes are transported from hospital wards / clinical – surgical areas / offices with utmost care in accordance with waste disposal policy. The HK staff are responsible to comply with safety rules.
  7. Responsible to ensure that contaminated / non-contaminated and sharp boxes collection & disposal records register is maintained accurately on day to day basis and available for verification.
  8. Responsible to ensure that main waste disposal area is absolutely kept clean & tidy, prior or after the collection of waste by outsource contractor.
