Job Description

Deputy Manager QMD is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of Quality and patient safety programs with in the campus. This role involves ensuring that healthcare services are delivered in accordance with established quality standards, regulatory requirements and best practices for patient safety.


1: Quality Management:

  • To assist RM to devise HWPI (Hospital wide Performance Improvement) programs to enhance standards of care for patients. Simultaneously, to devise DPI (Departmental Performance Improvement) programs, along with departmental stake holders and member’s committee assigned by CEO.

  • Assist in development of policies, procedures and guidelines for Quality Assurance programs to ensure the highest standards of patient care.

  • Lead the team to implement the policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure highest standards of patient care.

  • Monitor compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards and internal policies.

  • Lead team to Conduct audits and quality assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure Continuous Quality Improvement for the Campus.

2. Patient Safety:

  • At Campus level, to Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to promote a culture of patient safety.

  • Monitor and analyze Feedbacks, Complaints, Near Miss events, Incidents, Sentinel events at Campus level to ensure updated database records, managing the above within timelines to close the above well in time.

  • To further ensure, with help of AM and Data Analyst for updated record database.

  • To identify trends of events and other safety-related data to prevent adverse events

  • Lead or participate in RCA and FMEA for significant incidents, to formulate effective preventive actions and corrective actions whenever applicable.

3. Data Management & reporting:

  • Lead team of AM and Data Analyst to ensure timely reports on performance improvement projects related to Quality and patient safety.

  • To ensure accurate documentation, on basis of these documents, preparation of Campus reports and timely submission to regional manager.

4. Staff trainings and development:

  • Deliver trainings programs on Quality Improvement and patient safety for clinical and non-clinical staff

  • Provide guidance and support staff on best practices.

  • Support QMD staff in learning new skills and enhance their knowledge base.

5. Accreditations and regulatory compliance:

  • Provide support to staff in understanding regulatory compliance standards of relevant regulations and accreditation requirements for PHC, SSP, or any other like WHO, JCI planned in future.

  • Under leadership of RM, Campus DM will be responsible for Campus Audit before visit of Accreditation team, to identify Gaps, to get things rectified with OK tick box list ready.

  • Subsequent to Accreditation team visit, to help departments to take actions to fulfill the weaknesses of areas identified by visiting team to secure new accreditation or to secure follow up renewals.

  • Keep updated about changes in regulations

  • To ensure that organizational policies and practices are updated accordingly.

6. DATA REPORTING

  • Assist RM to prepare reports for CEO and board presentations incorporating data from all three campuses.

7. Patient and family engagement:

  • Lead team to Support initiatives to involve patient and their families in their care ensuring that their feedback is used to improve quality and safety.

  • Lead team to Develop strategies to enhance patient and family education on safety and quality issues at Campus level.

8. Quality Improvement Projects:

  • Support QIPs to improve patient care and safety.

  • Support departments in developing project plans and ensuring timely completion.

  • Update RM on the status of improvement projects.
