Job Description

Job Summary:
The Demonstrator Clinical is responsible for delivering hands-on training, mentorship, and supervision to students during their clinical rotations. The role bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring students acquire the skills, confidence, and competence required to excel in their healthcare careers. The position also involves curriculum implementation, student assessment, and fostering collaboration among faculty, students, and clinical staff.


Key Responsibilities

1. Demonstrator Clinical and Supervision

  • Provide direct supervision and mentorship to students during clinical rotations.
  • Ensure students adhere to safety and ethical standards in patient care.
  • Facilitate the application of theoretical knowledge to real-world clinical scenarios.

2. Curriculum Implementation

  • Collaborate with ICMAH academic faculty to align clinical activities with program objectives.
  • Develop and execute clinical educational programs that enhance learning outcomes.
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on students’ performance and progress.
  • Design interactive teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.

3. Assessment and Evaluation

  • Conduct formative and summative assessments of students' clinical competencies.
  • Maintain detailed records of students’ clinical activities, including portfolios and logbooks.
  • Identify areas for student improvement and provide constructive feedback.

4. Professional Development

  • Stay updated on advancements in healthcare and clinical education.
  • Participate in professional development activities, such as workshops and seminars.

5. Collaboration and Communication

  • Act as a liaison between academic institutions and clinical sites.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive learning experience.
  • Foster effective communication between students, faculty, and clinical staff.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and participate in departmental meetings.

6. Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate documentation of students' progress and performance.
  • Support program evaluation and improvement through detailed reporting.

7. Policy Development

  • Assist in developing clinical policies and procedures that meet regulatory standards and promote quality education.

General Responsibilities

Pre-Rotation

  • Review student materials, including clinical goals and objectives.
  • Develop learning activities requiring advanced preparation, such as interdisciplinary observations.

During the Rotation

  • Provide direct supervision and mentorship to students during clinical practice.
  • Offer regular feedback to students, highlighting strengths and areas for growth.
  • Communicate with the Director of Clinical Education regarding student progress.
  • Conduct midterm and final evaluations, fostering self-reflection in students.

Post-Rotation

  • Review students’ academic preparation and clinical performance, providing constructive feedback.
  • Report insights on the clinical education process to the ICMAH principal.

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Head of the Institute.
