Job Description
- Tend to patients, visitors and healthcare professionals politely and efficiently dealing with any queries tactfully and discreetly, referring them to professional staff and other relevant departments.
- Ensure the smooth functioning of designated OPD and reception.
- Provide daily reports of assigned area to the Head of Receptions.
- Ensure information regarding the schedules and availability of consultants are updated.
- Coordinate with the Head of Receptions with regards to unresolved issues.
- Coordinate with all staff in assigned working area.
- Supervise, assign, and monitor reporting staff; coordinate with supervisors in case of absence of staff, informing Section Head and the Floor Manager.
- Serve as a point of contact for patients and attendants.
- Ensure all newly admitted patients are tended to by the Ward Receptionist.
- Arrange for ambulances to transport patients (if required); Coordinate with the Front Office accordingly.
- Coordinate and arrange for medicines required for OPD patients from the hospital Pharmacy.
- Ensure patients and their attendants are informed of payment status if donations are requested.
- Ensure all documentation with respect to admissions, discharges (including discharge summaries prepared by medical officers/residents) and services provided to patients are accurately maintained.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Housekeeping and Security regarding queries and complaints.
- Maintain records of linen and dressing sets available at the start and the end of every working day; ensure adequate supplies are available at all times.
- Maintain complete records of all stock available in his/her assigned ward/area.
- Ensure all unused medicines or general items are returned to the Pharmacy or Stores.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings; discuss issues and concerns with Supervisor / Management.
- Perform all tasks assigned by the supervisor / management.
