Job Description
TASKS & ACCOUNTIBLITIES:
- Responsible for assigned patients in the Medical Critical Care Complex, completing 200 hours/month duties in shifts.
- Comprehensive ventilator management of patients starts from the need of airway, escalation or de-escalation of oxygen therapy, the need for intubation invasive and non-invasive ventilation with hourly assessment, charting, taking samples of blood gas, and interpretation with change of ventilatory parameters in consultation with a consultant.
- Should have experience and be credentialed for Passing arterial catheter.
- Management of Airway, assisting intubation, suction, and ventilator support.
- Care of patients who require oxygen therapy or airway assistance is the domain of RTs’.
- Keeping a record of ventilators and updating daily functional status in MCCC, extubation checklist, and incidents on ventilated patients.
- Documentation of all Spontaneous breathing trials being performed along with the parameters being followed as per weaning criteria (weaning policy)
- Involvement in education of airway, suction, intubation, NIV, and ventilator parameters.
- Should learn intubation and be involved in education.
- Ensuring safe transport of critically ill patients requiring ventilatory assistance both inter-hospital or intra-hospital.
