Job Description
The Chapatti Maker is responsible for preparing chapattis, naan, parathas, and puris for patients and non-patients, as well as for official and private functions, with the effective utilization of resources to ensure cost-effective operations. He/she will maintain the highest standards of product quality and hygiene/safety in the bakery/kitchen.
- Receive flour from the Food Store as per requirement and examine the quality; reject if found substandard.
- Prepare the Dough Mix and make loaves from it as per the production requirement.
- Replenish adequate supplies during peak meal hours.
- Handle/report to the duty supervisor regarding substandard ingredients OR any subsequent leftovers.
- Clean (while at work OR “clean as you go”)the dough mixer and other chapatti room equipment/ utensils, and ensure a clean and tidy kitchen is handed over to the next shift staff.
- Produce daily and next day requirements of the cycle menu or any special event requirements as directed by the supervisor.
- Prepare chapattis, nan, paratha, and puri as needed.
- Ensure the safety and hygienic condition of the chapatti room and immediately report of damages/waste, and theft to the duty supervisor.
- Report food safety and other complaints/ problems to the immediate duty supervisor or the cook team leader
- Perform all related tasks as assigned by the duty supervisor
