- Coordinate and conduct registered nurse, registered midwife, nursing technicians and nursing assistant orientation programs.
- Coordinate and conduct in-service sessions, workshops, training courses and CPR courses for nursing staff.
- Participates in planning, developing, and evaluating educational plans, modules, outlines, performance checklists/evaluation tools.
- Participate in reviewing existing and developing new nursing policies, procedure guidelines, and protocols and conduct awareness sessions of nursing staff.
- Observe Staff nursing practices to assess their compliance with nursing policies, procedure guidelines, and protocols and provide feedback to area HNs/CNIs accordingly.
General Responsibilities:

Conduct
need assessments of orientees and nursing staff by using variety of strategic
tools.
2.
Assessing
progress of orientees/trainees and modify teaching strategies/content and or
objectives accordingly.
3.
Incorporate
principles of teaching and learning in planning, developing and implementation
education programs.
4.
Demonstrate
professionalism and act as a role model while communicating with nursing staff
and other colleagues.
5.
Deliver
competence based programs for nursing staff with an objective of retention of
knowledge and skills.
6.
Participate
in committees as assigned by the immediate supervisors such as Nursing
Education Advisory Committee (NEAC) and Policy and Procedures (P & P)
meetings and provide input.
7.
Assess
and evaluate the quality of educational modules, resources and equipment
required to meet the learning need of nurses.
8.
Do
literature search to abreast with current trends, acknowledge the changes in
nursing practice and in consultation with immediate supervisor, modify/develop educational
modules/programs by incorporating those changes.
9.
Ensure
that educational programs, quizzes and tools are congruent with departmental goals
and objectives.
10.
Supervise
nursing interns during internship program as and when assigned.
11.
Participate
in nursing audits and mock drill.
12.
In collaboration with area CNIs, make
clinical rounds to evaluate nursing orientees’/trainees’ performance, the
quality of patient care and safe patient care environment.
13.
Prepare monthly reports on assigned staff
developmental activities and submit to immediate supervisor before deadlines.
14.
Maintain
flexibility when managing multiple roles and responsibilities.
15.
Promote
a safe and healthy teaching/learning environment.
16.
Participate
in personal and professional growth.
17.
Perform own clinical practice on patients in
accordance with personal goals & objectives.
18.
Participate
in at least 01 quality improvement project in a year.
