Job Description

Patient Counseling and Support: Provide psychological counseling to DR-TB and drug-susceptible TB patients five days a week, ensuring all advice and interventions align strictly with WHO and NTP guidelines.
Treatment Coordination and Adherence: Reinforce treatment adherence without altering any treatment regimen unless formally discussed with the clinical team and approved by the Clinical Team Lead.
Baseline and Follow-Up Counseling: Conduct intake counseling sessions for all DR-TB patients at enrollment, and provide structured follow-up counseling at least once every two months during clinical reviews.
Group Counseling Sessions: Lead focused group discussions (FGDs) with smear- and culture-negative patients to promote continued treatment adherence and address psychosocial barriers.
Documentation and Confidentiality: Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation for all patients counseled, ensuring strict compliance with data confidentiality and ethical standards.
Referral and Escalation: Identify patients requiring psychiatric care and coordinate referrals for hospitalization where necessary. Promptly report any behavioral, emotional, or treatment-related concerns to the program, clinical, and field teams.
Monitoring & Evaluation Tools: Contribute to the development of standardized tools for monitoring, evaluation, and documentation of counseling services across all sites.
Infection Control Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control protocols during all patient interactions and counseling sessions.
Any other task assigned by management as per need.
