Job Description

TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • The BCC Officer provides technical and programmatic oversight for all behavior change communication
  • S/he plans, implements, monitors and reports on the activities specified in the BCC work plan, and guided by the District Coordinator
  • The BCC Officer’s work will include development of BCC messages and materials, and training/capacity building of local staff and counterparts and oversight of BCC activities by local staff and international consultants
  • Manage all advocacy and BCC activities at district and community levels in collaboration with District Coordinator
  • Compile the BCC records and update data bases.
  • Assist in LLIN distribution at community/ANC levels.
  • Assist District CO to plan Advocacy events at district and community levels
  • Conduct advocacy and BCC activities in line with the monthly and quarterly workplans.
  • Provide BCC related logistical support to all community based centers.
  • Collect and computerized BCC data
  • Carry out field visits to support BCC and advocacy activities at facility and community levels.
  • Provide regular feed back on Advocacy / BCC events to District coordinatoron on regular basis
  • Ensure that all BCC record gets entered into the LHWs/LHS diaries and authencity of CBO/LHW documents
  • Assist in other admin and logistics related functions as needed
  • Maintain record of all activities at district office.
  • Provide support in all activities including data entry as assigned by the district coordinator
  • Carry out regular field visits to support and monitor BCC in all target districts
  • Provide regular feedback on project activities to District Coordinator on regular basis
  • Review the behavior change communication and community engagement strategies, knowledge base, information, education and communication (IEC) materials, practices and the gaps in BCC for program and elimination in the region
  • Provide expertise in social science methods for monitoring and evaluation of BCC, community mobilization and advocacy including specific components working with mobile populations and high risk populations
  • Any other task assigned by Line Manager
