Job Responsibilities:
- Diagnostic & Technical Responsibilities:
Independently sign out anatomical pathology, cytopathology, and frozen section cases; supervise gross dissection; draft pathology reports with specimen details, diagnosis, and comments; provide timely frozen section communication; ensure implementation of SOPs and internal/external QC of all tests.
- Departmental Supervision & Staff Management:
Supervise registrars and residents, monitor clinical competence, documentation, professionalism, and adherence to protocols; identify training needs; guide technical and support staff.
- Quality, Compliance & Test Development:
Perform test costing, feasibility of new tests, selection of methodologies, verification of performance specifications, ensure CAP PT participation, and support achievement of departmental KPIs.
- Academic Leadership & Teaching:
Actively participate in academic sessions, tumor board, CME, departmental teaching programs for undergraduates and postgraduates, and supervise research activities across multiple departments.
- Research, Audit & Administrative Duties:
Conduct and participate in audits, lead intra- and inter-departmental research projects, attend departmental meetings, and perform any other tasks assigned by hospital management.
Job Requirements:
- FCPS
(Histopathology) with valid PMDC registration.
- 01-02
years of post
FCPS experience.
- Experience in a CAP Accredited laboratory (Preferred).
