Education
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Midwifery, Public Health, or related field.
Job Description
- Support identification and screening of infants under 6 months and mothers using MUAC, weight, breastfeeding assessment tools, and maternal well-being checklists.
- Assist in running MAMI clinics, breastfeeding corners, and follow-up sessions.
- Provide practical support to mothers on breastfeeding techniques, positioning, and attachment.
- Facilitate referrals of infants and mothers to appropriate health facilities when required.
- Conduct household visits to monitor follow-up cases and provide individualized caregiver support.
- Engage communities through awareness sessions and mobilization for MAMI services.
- Promote positive caregiving, nutrition, hygiene, and maternal well-being practices.
- Provide basic psychosocial support to mothers and refer complex cases.
- Collaborate with community volunteers, health workers, and other program staff.
- Maintain accurate MAMI registers, assessments, follow-up records, and attendance sheets.
- Support preparation of weekly and monthly reports through proper data collection.
- Ensure confidentiality and safe handling of mother–infant information.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the MAMI space/clinic.
- Ensure proper use and care of equipment such as MUAC tapes, weighing scales, and counseling materials.
- Follow MAMI protocol, breastfeeding guidelines, and infection prevention measures.
- Participate in trainings, coaching, and supervisory visits for skill improvement.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor related to MAMI program implementation.
