Job Description
- Responsible to move patients between wards, departments, and treatment areas, using wheelchairs or beds. They assist patients with mobility challenges and ensure their safe transfer as needed.
- Responsible to transport linen, waste and other essential items and documents, ensuring they are delivered to the correct locations and in good condition.
- Handle and dispose of clinical and general waste, adhering to safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
- Responsible to transport samples (Blood / urine) to laboratory after informing area in-charge following proper SOPS.
- Responsible to follow personal hygiene protocols.
- Responsible for cleanliness of work place (dusting of beds, mattress, tables, trays, wardrobes, sofa, entire room, gallery, doors, electric doors, monitors, keyboards, glass etc.). Dusting/cleaning of biomedical equipment is not allowed.
- Respond promptly to emergency requests (e.g., code blue, patient transfers).
- Responsible for sorting and handing out linen, helping nurses with unclean linen and bed sheets removal if needed. (Though, Bed making is a responsibility of Nursing department).
- Accountable to be present on allocated location and in case of shift change, handover tasks to the next shift properly.
- Perform any other task assigned by the immediate supervisor.
