Job Description

  • The Senior medical officers are responsible for the management of all neonatal emergencies, day-to-day running of the neonatology ward, principally the admission by taking complete history, performing pertinent physical examination and to document all above in the HMIS.
  • They are also responsible for the special care baby unit, Labor room and management of all new born babies in the postnatal wards. They are jointly responsible with residents for the timely preparation of discharge summaries
  • To evaluate the patients admitted in the ward senior medical officers are encouraged to attend outpatient clinics to become familiar with the different conditions that are managed in this setting.
  • All doctors within the department contribute to the teaching and education program. Thus, the senior medical officer will be expected to present cases, review journal articles and lead educational sessions on a rotational basis.

Note: The position requires availability and flexibility to work in both morning and evening shifts as per departmental scheduling.
