Job Description

Task & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for assigned patients in the Critical Care Medicine Department (MICU/HDU) in shifts to complete 200 hours/month and follow IHHN rules.
  • Responsible to look after critical patients in the assigned area of MICU/HDU and take history, examine in detail, implement the discussed treatment plan with the Registrar/Consultant in time, and document in HMIS.
  • Request blood investigations and imaging, expedite their reports, and take urgent appropriate action after consultation with the Registrar/Consultant on call and/or Primary Specialty Resident.
  • Attend and present cases in daily rounds.
  • Coordinate with different specialties regarding patients. Timely update and document any change in the patient’s status.
  • Be attentive and manage emergencies of MICU/HDU patients; communicate with related on-call staff, follow and document instructions from concerned attending/specialties.
  • Strictly follow Critical Care Medicine Department & Indus Hospital (IHHN) SOPs for patient management, infection control, and invasive procedures.
  • Take and give proper handover of patients at the bedside to the next shift doctor.
  • Counsel patient/next of kin, take consent, respect patient rights, and update if the patient’s condition deteriorates.
  • Follow Indus Hospital dress code, rules, rights, regulations, and guidelines as per Human Resources.
  • Continue to improve knowledge and skills by attending CME sessions, workshops, etc.
