Job Description
- Manage and maintain procedure list of all patients.
- Ensure proper usage of medical and surgical supplies.
- Assume complete responsibility of Cath. Room, equipment and special assignments; ensure proper handover at end of shift.
- Perform various procedures including I/V cannulation, catheterization, 12 lead electro cardiogram (ECG), inserting and feeding via nasogastric / orogastric tubes.
- Provide general orientation to patients and their families.
- Prepare for, receive and shift out patients independently.
- Assume complete responsibility for the safe-handling of temporary pace makers, intra-aortic balloon pumps and fractional flow reserves.
- Demonstrate knowledge of elements of patient and environmental safety including: routine safety checks, medical gases and oxygen supply, radiation safety (TLD badges, lead aprons), suction apparatus and anesthesia machine tubing, general infection and emergency precautions, hemodynamic (axiom sensis), surgical hand washing etc.
- Ensure the safe handling of patients with diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome, myocardial infarction, and pulmonary edema.
- Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and ensure quality care is provided to patients undergoing different procedures including left and right catheterization, graft check, aorta root angiography, RHC/ ASD/ VSD/ PDA, IABP, pacemakers, angioplasty, intubations, radiological procedures, sheath removal etc.
- Interpret cardiac enzymes.
- Perform advance cardiac life support with current standards and certifications.
- Assume responsibility for continuous cardiac and rhythm strip monitoring and interpretation and safe blood sampling.
- Learn normal values of basic biochemistry and hematology investigations.
- Perform all tasks assigned by the supervisor.
