Job Description


  • Provide leadership in the design, development, and continuous improvement of academic programs in Public Health and Family Medicine for undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing professional development programs.
  • Ensure curricula are competency-based, aligned with national and international standards.
  • Oversee the integration of academic programs with the hospital’s extensive clinical and community outreach network.
  • Lead engagement with government/public sector stakeholders for health policy development
  • Promote innovation in digital health, data systems, and population analytics
  • Integrate AI / data-driven decision-making in public health programs
  • Ensure students and trainees receive hands-on training in primary care settings, with a strong emphasis on preventive, promotive, and family-centred healthcare services.
  • Promote a strong research culture within the college by facilitating high-quality research in epidemiology, public health, primary care, and health systems.
  • Secure research funding, fostering collaborations, and ensuring publication of research findings in reputable journals.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the College, including faculty recruitment, performance management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure effective governance, transparency, and adherence to institutional policies and procedures.
  • Lead initiatives to recruit, mentor, and retain qualified faculty, fostering continuous professional development, enhancing teaching competencies, and building leadership capacity within the academic team.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the College’s academic offerings, research portfolio, and community impact.
  • Establish and supervise Family Medicine clinics and outreach centers.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with governing bodies, academic institutions and international organizations.
  • Ensure that all academic and clinical programs meet the standards set by relevant regulatory authorities and accreditation bodies..
  • Represent the institution in national/international public health forums
