Job Description

TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Safely operate and navigate the vessel in accordance with maritime regulations and operational procedures.

• Ensure the safety of Patients, Passengers, Crew Members, Cargo, Assets and the Vessel during all operations.

• Conduct pre-departure inspections of the vessel, engines, safety equipment, and navigation systems.

• Monitor weather conditions, water routes, tides, and other navigational hazards before and during voyages.

• Supervise and assign duties to crew members (if Available) to ensure smooth vessel operations.

• Ensure proper docking, anchoring, berthing, and mooring of the vessel.

• Maintain voyage logs, fuel records, maintenance records, and operational reports.

• Coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, and technical inspections to keep the vessel operational.

• Ensure compliance with maritime laws, safety regulations, and organizational SOPs.

• Manage emergency situations including mechanical failures, medical emergencies, fire, collision, or rescue operations.

• Maintain communication with port authorities, operations teams, and other marine agencies.

• Monitor fuel, water, spare parts, and operational inventory to ensure uninterrupted operations.

• Ensure proper loading, unloading, and weight distribution of patients, passengers, staff, equipment, or cargo.

• Report incidents, technical issues, and operational updates to management in a timely manner.

• Ensure the vessel remains clean, operationally ready, and available for emergency deployment.

• Perform the Supervisor/line manager any kind of assigned task.
