Basic nursing procedures: Vitals checking, nebulisation, basic nursing procedure.
Direct Patient Care: Provide compassionate, respectful, and continuous direct care to TB patients throughout the shift, following professional and ethical standards of practice.
Quality and Standards Compliance: Ensure care delivery aligns with established patient care goals and therapeutic standards. Recommend or implement care adjustments in consultation with the treating physician as needed.
Patient Advocacy and Coordination: Assist in resolving patient needs by coordinating with relevant healthcare providers and ensuring patients receive timely support and guidance throughout their care journey.
Childhood TB Screening Support: Encourage caregivers of pediatric patients, both in wards and outpatient settings, to participate in active screening for childhood TB and facilitate necessary procedures.
Data Support and Accuracy: Assist doctors in maintaining accurate, updated patient records. Ensure data shared with the team is complete, consistent, and submitted in a timely manner.
Supplies and Consumables Management: Monitor and ensure adequate stock of necessary supplies such as forms, masks, gloves, and other consumables required for daily TB care operations.
Patient Follow-Up and Instructions Compliance: Follow and implement physicians’ care instructions. Arrange and track patient follow-ups, ensuring appointments and investigations are completed on schedule.
TB Registration and Documentation: Accompany patients for registration with the Provincial TB Control Programme and ensure proper recording and documentation of their TB registration numbers.
Investigation Facilitation: Support patients in getting required investigations done, follow up on pending results, and communicate findings to the clinical team promptly.
Incident Reporting: Immediately report any incidents or unusual occurrences involving patients, staff, or visitors to relevant authorities in accordance with institutional protocols.
Task Execution and Flexibility: Carry out delegated clinical and administrative duties as assigned by the medical officer, and undertake additional responsibilities as directed by the supervisor or department head.
