Job Description

Key Job Responsibilities

1.            Liaise with GPs and BMUs in their respective catchment areas in order to send suspect TB patients to the right clinics, flagging any cases suspected of DR-TB

2.            Visit TB treatment and diagnostic centers,  BMUs and GP Clinics for referral CAT-II failure patients

3.            Report all adverse events/unusual events via patient incidence reporting to the team

4.            Identify treatment supporters for patients

5.            Refer Patients to nearest PMDT site for free GenXpert testing

6.            Randomly visit patients’ homes to monitor treatment supporters (TS) activities

7.            Monitor compliance of all rules and regulations around drug storage and administration forTSs and patients

8.            Outline the PE’s (F)  daily work plan at the beginning of each day

9.            Follow up on potential default DOTS and DR-TB patients through phone calls and household visits

10.          Share details of missing or non-responsive patients with the coordinator’s manager; attempt to retrieve these patients

11.          Supply medicines to patients’ families, as well as a TS incase a community TS does not already exist

12.          Ensure all TSs have received monthly drugs for their cluster’s patients

13.          Assume the role of a TS in case of any emergencies or if a TS is unavailable for short periods of time

14.          Monitor contact screening every six months of patients’ close family members

15.          Prepare and update the OPD monthly follow-up list of patients – to be shared with the team.

16.          Prepare weekly reports reviewing performance for submission  to head of the office

17.          Update all patient files and reports

22.          Prepare tentative monthly work plans and daily activity sheets, along with BMU visit details

23.          Prepare monthly claims for reimbursement along and mapping reports

24.          Facilitate hospitalization with appropriate doctors and staff of the PMDT sites and referral hospitals for patients who

25.          Organize TB awareness camps

26.          Notify all respective team members of treatment phase changes or new outcomes

27.          Coordinate all other assignments and tasks with the Supervisor/Manager.
