Job Description

Undergo training in the protocol, trial procedures, and GCP.
 Travel to external clinics and conduct patient home visits in different districts of Sindh.
 Carry out home visits for endTB patients in order to educate the family on the trial and TB
regimen, to provide psychosocial support if needed, to identify close contacts at high risk of
DR-TB, and to identify and address infection control concerns in the home.
 Carry out home visits in case of medical or adherence problems and to take necessary
actions to retrieve non adherent and potential lost to follow up patients.
 Assist in tracing patients following treatment interruption and returning them to care.
 Identification of appropriate treatment supporter for the patient.
 Coordinate all MDR TB ambulatory activities.
 Coordinate with Provincial MDR TB Coordinator of respective district to retrieve lost to follow
up cases (if needed).
 Identify and address socioeconomic problems.
 Provision of training to treatment supporter.
 Supervise DR TB supporter and ensure Directly observed treatment (DOT) forms are filled
on a daily basis by the supporter.
 Coordinate with clinical, data and pharmacy staff.
 To collect blister packs (treatment supply) from pharmacy and hand over these to treatment
supporter/patients with the support of the pharmacist and maintain distribution records as
per protocols.
 Coordinate with pharmacy to arrange ancillary drugs for the study participants and if needed
arrange these from the local pharmacies.
 Collect empty blister packs from the patients and return them to the pharmacy.
 To maintain treatment adherence records as per protocol.
 Complete all recording documents as required by endTB trial SOPs.
 To provide emotional, psychosocial, and educational support (during working hours) as 
required throughout the treatment journey for patients enrolled onto the endTB trial.
 Assist the team with collection of specific missing data for individual endTB patients if
possible.
 To be available on Sunday nights (12 hour shift) and as required to ensure security on site,
however, the incumbent will be compensated with leave on other working day i.e. Saturday
or Monday.
