JOB SUMMARY:
The Mental Health Counselor Female/Male is responsible for delivering front-line mental health services in Primary Care Integrated facilities through Tele-Health Program. This includes providing lay counseling and support services to individuals experiencing stress/ anxiety/ depression and conducting Mental Health awareness-raising activities.
Core duties/Responsibilities:
- Once trained, Conduct quality mass screening for Anxiety/ Depression at facility level.
- Provide face to face and over the phone counseling and Psycho social support to individuals found positive for anxiety / Depression.
- Listen to clients' concerns, empathizing and helping them
- Maintain excellent records of client treatment progress.
- Establish a safe and positive environment for people to discuss their personal issues
- Conduct Mental health awareness sessions in the communities, homes and in the clinic-setting.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all patients, conversations, referrals records, etc.
- Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Attend regular weekly meetings, training courses and capacity-building sessions.
- Calling up the patients for Follow-up
- Works collaboratively and effectively within a team.
Data Reporting:
- Properly Document all the Client data, both qualitative and quantitative including the stories.
- Report progress and daily updates to the Supervising Psychologist.
Academic/Professional Qualification:
Minimum Bachelors: Graduate with Background of degree in any field
Key skills and Work Experience:
- One Year of working Experience or at least 6 months of working Experience in providing counseling services or similar role
- Good communication skills and ability to manage emotions/difficulties of clients
- Ability to relate to and adapt communication style to suit a wide range of people
- Encourage and help to empower individuals
- Fluency in regional language
- Able to use a smart-phone or tablet for data collection
- Experience in managing computer systems
