Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of medicines and pharmaceutical products.
- Source suppliers and negotiate contracts for the procurement of pharmaceuticals, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as pharmacists, physicians, and administrators to understand medication needs and requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs.
- Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular supplier reviews to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance with contractual agreements.
- Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting pharmaceutical procurement.
- Work closely with the finance department to manage budgetary constraints and ensure alignment of procurement activities with organizational goals.
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff members involved in pharmacy procurement activities.
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors to enhance collaboration and streamline procurement processes.
Requirements:
- Business Graduate degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
- Proven experience in pharmaceutical procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical products, drug regulations, and procurement best practices.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
